 Spread is a new comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Anne Heche that will be released on August 14th 2009. It was directed by David Mackenzie and shot by Steven Poster, ASC. In one particular shot, there was a noticeable reflection of the crew in the panes of glass in a door. The work we did was complicated by the door opening and also because what you saw through the door needed to remain in the shot. The digital intermediate was being done at LaserPacific, and our in-house VFX team are able to quickly produce these types of fixes without slowing down progress on the DI. Because the shots stay in-house, there's no need to worry about issues such as file conversions causing subtle shifts in density or hue - the shot comes back from the VFX team looking exactly the same, except that the crew's reflection has disappeared.
