The Secret Life of the American Teenager

secret-lifeThe Secret Life of the American Teenager from Executive Producer Brenda Hampton, debuted to the largest audience ever for an original program on ABC Family. It also garnered a Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer series. That's not surprising given Brenda Hampton's track record as Executive Producer of the long-running family oriented series Seventh Heaven, which ran for 11 seasons - all 243 episodes of which were posted at LaserPacific.  As the second season continues starting on January 4th 2010, we are proud to continue our working relationship with Brenda Hampton as well as series Associate Producer, Danny Kahn.

The show traces the lives and coming of age of good-girl band geek Amy who is smart, talented...and pregnant. Super-Christian cheerleader Grace wants to wait until she's married. As their secrets start to spread to their parents and to friends like bad-boy Ricky and wild-child Adrian, everyone's secrets and stories start to come to the surface.

The show is shot digitally on the Sony F-23 camera. Each day of the shoot, LaserPacific helps deliver dailies by syncing the HDCAM SR from the set with the digital hard-drive captured audio. A reel of circle takes gets created as well as the information necessary for the edit room. SuperComputer 2.0 with Nitris is used to assemble the show before it is color timed. This digital workflow which ensures accurate information and images for the cutting room as well as the dailies for the filmmakers and the studio is part of the digital camera workflow process that is increasingly being managed by LaserPacific.
