Bride Wars

LaserPacific provides post production services for Bride Wars

bride_wars_stillStarring Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway, Fox 2000's Bride Wars tells the story of two lifelong best friends, Liv and Emma, who become bitter rivals when their high-end wedding planner (Candice Bergen) schedules their weddings on the same day at New York's ultra-luxurious Plaza Hotel - the venue they have dreamed holding their nuptials in since childhood. Director Gary Winick (Charlotte's Web, Thirteen Going on Thirty, Tadpole) teamed up with veteran cinematographer Fred Elmes, ASC (Synecdoche New York, The Namesake, Kinsey) and regular collaborator, editor Susan Littenberg.

LaserPacific's involvement began during the shooting of the movie, providing a range of dailies services including telecine transfer of the 3-perf negative, viewing dailies that were sorted by scene and take, and Avid Adrenaline digitizing for editorial. Once the film was edited, the creative team returned to LaserPacific for the digital intermediate color grading with senior colorist Mike Sowa. Sowa worked with the cinematographer, director and producers to create a look that they were all satisfied with, explaining, “one of the most important parts of my job as a colorist is to listen to the opinions of all the creatives, and craft a look that they will all be happy with.” Once the grading was complete, LaserPacific delivered two film negatives and a digital cinema distribution master (DCDM) for theatrical release and the HD masters for TV and DVD release.
