The 2008 - 2009 Television Season is shaping up to be one of the most important in LaserPacific's history. For over 25 years, LaserPacific has literally led the way in helping the creative minds in television find new and better ways to tell stories by using tools and techniques that have been pioneered by LaserPacific.
New Shows, New Tools, Old Friends
This season LaserPacific welcomed the AMC hit show Mad Men to its lineup. The rich look and deep character story development of this critically acclaimed and award-winning show, is enhanced by the use of LaserPacific's DI Timing Tools for Television. Co-Producer Blake McCormick spearheads a post production effort that takes the show's unique approach to life in the 1960's world of Madison Avenue and helps to create an enhancement to the writing, art direction, acting and cinematography by the use of creative color timing tools and techniques.
New to LaserPacific this season is the widely anticipated new show Crash from the producers of the Academy Award®-winning Best Motion Picture of 2006. Crash is a provocative new 13-episode drama series premiering on Starz in October. Starring an ensemble cast led by film icon Dennis Hopper, the series looks at the way different lives intersect and collide in the melting pot of L.A.
ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager from Executive Producer Brenda Hampton, which earned a Teen Choice Award, ranked number one with the network's key demographic in its debut time slot versus other cable television shows. This show marks a LaserPacific reunion with Brenda Hampton who was the creator and executive producer of the long-running series Seventh Heaven, for which LaserPacific provided post production services on each of the 243 episodes produced over 11 seasons.

Privileged, which tells the story of a Yale educated young woman determined to make it in the world of journalism who finds her life veering in new directions as she becomes the live-in tutor to rich and rebellious teenage twins in the heady world of the rich and powerful in Palm Beach, Florida society. So many of LaserPacific's customers keep coming back year after year, show after show. So many of our loyal customers helped to learn "the way" of today's post production workflow in LaserPacific's breakthrough Electronic Laboratory™ and today they continue to turn to us to 'still lead the way.'
LaserPacific is Honored to be Part of the Creative Solution
Back at LaserPacific this season are a number of shows that we are proud to help deliver each week. Pushing Daisies is one of those shows whose unique look just can not be ignored. As Barry Sonnefeld, Director and Executive Producer of Pushing Daisies likes to tell it, when describing the look of Pushing Daisies, “we took it to LaserPacific and they turned the color up to 11.” While we love the thought that it was that simple, it takes a lot more than that to deliver the unique look of one of the most highly acclaimed shows on television today. “If it were only that easy,” Livia Hanich, Co-Producer of the show muses. LaserPacific color timer Joe Hathaway, who won a Hollywood Post Alliance award for his work on Pushing Daisies helped to create a post production workflow that features Full Range Dailies and the use of LaserPacific's DI Timing Tools for Television. According to Hathaway, "Livia and I have crafted a workflow that is respectful of the tremendous art direction, writing and cinematography and we use these new timing tools in a way that seamlessly works with the other creative elements of this show to create a truly eye popping exerience."
We are honored to be working with a number of shows and customers that have been part of our LaserPacific family for many seasons. It is the eighth season that we have provided post production services for ABC Comedy According to Jim and the sixth season for One Tree Hill. They join a lineup of returning shows such as award winning Patricia Arguette starring Medium created and produced by television veteran Glenn Gordon Caron, which will enter its fifth season this year.
Returning this season to LaserPacific is Saving Grace, Burn Notice, Greek, 'Til Death as well as other series, movies for television and projects which we diligently work to make our customers feel that LaserPacific is a post "house" that they can call "home."
