| Laser Pacific's Mick Montgomery Wins Award From Producers' Guild of America |
Producers' Guild of America Recognizes The NoHo ShowWhen he's not working as the Director of Company Operations at LaserPacific, Mick Montgomery has been part of a team producing the webisode The NoHo Show (www.thenohoshow.com). The team celebrated the end of Season One by winning an award at the Producers' Challenge, a contest that was part of the first ever Produced By Conference. Mick Montgomery, Scott Phillips and John Schimke were awarded “Best Produced Webisode”, one of three awards handed out during the evening, which included a screening in front of members of the Producer’s Guild of America. Mick Montgomery, Producer, Writer and Director of Episode 1, said this about the award, “We had high hopes for the show going into the event. However, it doesn’t diminish how excited we are to win.” Episode 1, “Theater Equals Hard”, was screened in front of a live audience that included noted producer and co-chair of the event, Gayle Ann Hurd (Terminator 2). According to Rachel Klein, co-chair of the event alongside Hurd, The NoHo Show was selected as the Best Produced Webisode out of hundreds of submissions. The evening was the final event of the “Produced By” conference, which was hosted by Sony Pictures at the Studio Lot. Sessions at the conference included A-List producers like James Cameron and Clint Eastwood. Winners received several prizes including a mentoring lunch with an A-List Hollywood Producer.“The NoHo Show” is an episodic web series available for viewing at www.thenohoshow.com. The NoHo Show documents the wild adventures of three people with big dreams and small pockets attempting to make theater a reality in North Hollywood, CA, no matter how absurd, ridiculous or chaotic that reality becomes on a daily basis.
